Honda New Technology for 2021 Models

August 5th, 2021 by

If you told anybody ten years ago that you could wirelessly connect your mobile phone to your car, you would have been greeted with absolute disdain. However, that connection is a reality as today smartphones are everywhere and users take them wherever they go — and one of the most suitable places to take your pocket-sized supercomputer is your car. Modern cars offer cool integration for Apple and Android owners as you simply connect and wirelessly and enjoy the benefits while driving. Honda equips its vehicles with loads of technology, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, among others. We’ll take you through everything you can expect from its 2021 lineup and technological features.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both a luxury and necessity. Essentially, these two systems act as an in-car assistant that enables you to use certain smartphone features while in transit through the infotainment system or the device itself. You can use it to access navigation, play messages and listen to your favorite music. It assists drivers to keep their eyes focused on the road while going about usual business via their phone.

Some cars offer you a wireless connection, but you’d have to connect via the USB port in the majority of vehicles. Both systems transfer to your touch screen, where you can gain access to your smartphone.

i-VTEC Engine

The Variable Valve Timing & Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) uses two camshafts, and the computer switches between them. Honda engineer Ikuo Kajitani invented the VTEC system, which provided a solution to obtaining high power out of small engines. He altered the valve lift and timing to boost the engine performance without adding a turbo or supercharger. After constant development, the company created iVTEC in 2001, which they paired with four-cylinder engines.

Future Innovation & Technology

Honda is focusing on the future in three primary areas: robotics, mobility and energy solutions. With these advancements, the company can provide people with freedom of mobility and the joy of improving their lives. Driverless cars are one of those advancements that people await from Honda. It’s still in development, but the world is on the verge of experiencing self-driving vehicles without human intervention. Honda has already made considerable strides in producing electric cars, but it’s only a matter of time before a Level 3 autonomous system is manufactured.

The Honda Legend is a classic executive car that is the company’s flagship vehicle. The car has a V6 engine and is slightly larger than the Accord. If you’re keen to switch to electric, the Honda Prologue is one you should watch out for. It should be around in 2024 and will be a fully electric SUV offering an incredible driving range and versatility. This vehicle is the start of a long line of electric cars that will be a part of Honda’s zero-emission lineup in North America by 2040 — the primary reason for its name.
